With Halloween just a few days away, decorating your house is surely a priority for any holiday-obsessed fans of Halloween! Due to quarantines and lockdowns, many people can’t go and buy decorations for Halloween of 2020. Regardless, there are many DIY (do-it-yourself) and homemade Halloween decoration ideas out there that you can make to help revive the holiday spirit in your home. Here are my 5 favorite ideas:
- Carve or shave a pumpkin: Pumpkin carving and shaving never goes out of fashion around Halloween-time! To up the creativity this year, make some extra spooky looking or some silly 2020 disaster themed pumpkins to personalize the holiday to your tastes.
- Cut out paper chain decorations: Looking for a hanging decoration? Cut out paper chain decorations in the shapes of spooky ghosts, evil pumpkins, or gloomy bats and hang them around the house to elevate the look of your house or apartment.
- Mummify your front door: Using some toilet paper or white streamers and some tape, you can easily make your front door look daunting and ready for spooky season.
- Craft some large hanging spiders: Using small foam craft balls, some black fabric, googly eyes, white string, and black pipe cleaners, you can easily make DIY hangable spiders. Simply cover the foam ball with the black fabric and glue it, add the pipe cleaners in to resemble 8 legs, then glue the googly eyes to the top of the ball, and finally attach the white string to hang the spider and resemble the spider silk.
- Make creepy pillar candle holders: Lighting pillar candles is a basic way to elevate the spooky vibes for Halloween- to elevate that idea, make creepy pillar candle holders out of mini planting pots. Simply paint your planting pots black and use glow in the dark paint to paint a spooky design on top. Place the pillar candles in the pots. Light the candles and turn off the lights for an easy way to make your candles look even creepier.
